Serious addiction !!

Hi...my name is Chris and I'm addicted to  tying flies....  ("Hi Chris...)
I can not stop tying!
It is a little out of hand but oh so nice in the long haul.
Stocked up for the Driftless next week and more then ready for Tenkara Summit.

If you are going to Summit and message me, I'll give you a sampler pack of bugs.

Blue hooks & Parrot feathers

Love eyeless hooks, especially blue ones.
And any fly in this box with a colored feather, that is from a parrot.  Reclaimed and reused Blue Macaws, great Greens, reds, oranges and vivid yellows.  Some are crazy tiny, only one or two turns around the hooks.  But man are they beautiful.

Look for some of these at Summit!

blue macaw bubble kebari

I was lucky enough to be gifted a small bag of parrot feathers a while back and I have to say that they are hands down the most beautiful feathers I've worked with.  So vibrant and even the bad/damaged ones make great flies.  The trouble is they are super small and mega delicate, my hands have to be nimble in order to get a good one tied.

Quick Posting - Flies that worked at Castle Rock Creek

Just a quick posting before I sign off for the night.  Here are about half the flies that caught trout this week.  (trip update tomorrow)
The Silver Diver is a glass bead, partridge, peacock, silver wire, black 6/0, and about a  #12 nymph hook.  It caught a nice brown trout that was in fast water under a rock right at the end of a deep pool.  It drew him out and I think he knew he was fascinated by the tiny flashy object when it was a split second too late.

Aaron's Fly Box

Had the chance to send a small fly box out to the West Coast to the TenkaraHero in the Pacific Northwest.   Just a wide range of new tester flies.  We'll be hearing back from him on rod reviews, fly, and trip reviews.  Can't wait.
World Champion Kebari in the center of the box.

Another great day at the Creek

salt creek slayer - kill'n'em

Another great day on the water.  Lots of fish and had the chance to sight cast to some monster chubs.  I tested 4 flies today and while they all produced, the salt creek slayer - just killed them.

Salt Creek Slayer

Breaking my own rules by keeping the Salt Creek Slayer on until it is no longer functional.  Had my best day this year at the creek a few days ago.  It had a shocking 1 out of 4 cast average, which is simply amazing.  Way over 50 fish on the day!
